Hinase, a port town next to Ako City in Hyogo Prefecture, consists of 13 islands floating in the calm Seto Inland Sea. The lively Gomi Market, where fishermen’s wives enthusiastically sell fresh seafood from Hinase Port, is popular not only with locals but also with tourists. In the Hinase Islands, mandarin orange cultivation takes advantage of the warm climate, and you can enjoy mandarin picking in autumn. The thick oysters that are caught in the winter are famous, and the oyster-filled okonomiyaki “Hinase Kakioko” has been eaten for over 40 years.

兵庫県赤穂市に隣接する港町日生は、穏やかな瀬戸内海に浮かぶ13の島々からなる。漁師の奥さんたちが日生港の新鮮な魚介類を熱心に販売する賑やかな五味市場は、地元の人だけでなく観光客にも人気です。日生諸島では温暖な気候を活かしてみかん栽培が行われており、秋にはみかん狩りが楽しめます。冬に水揚げされる分厚いカキが名物で、カキたっぷりのお好み焼き「日生カキオコ」は40年以上食べられています。
