The Slaws are out on another motorhome pub stopover. This time to Leather’s Smithy in Langley in the Macclesfield Forest on the edge of the Peak District.
The roads are VERY narrow and its a tight squeeze in Helga their Hobby motorhome 😱@HobbyCaravan
Once safely arrived and parked up, they enjoy a lovely 5 mile walk with their two Lhasa Apso dogs, Billy and Jessie, in the beautiful surroundings of Macclesfield Forest, Ridgegate Reservoir, Trentabank Reservoir and Shutlingsloe.
The pub is a quaint 18th century Inn serving excellent food! Mrs Slaw enjoys the wine so much she tries to inhale it 😂
Overnight it is really quiet; no road noise and the Slaws were pleasantly awoken by birdsong.

Got an underslung gas tank on my camper, 3 years of use and still 3/4 full, could i ask where you get it refilled cause I’ve not had to yet, I’m West Yorks based 👍

I'm from Macclesfield so great to see you close to where I grew up. Spent many a new year in Langley and we did a loop walk at midnight passing the Smithy great memories.

I've walked Black hill that you mentioned it was one of my first walks I'd done in the peaks . As I was meeting a group I decided to drive up and sleep in my car overnight unbeknown to me I stayed in a dogging carpark and never slept a wink all night 😂😂
We have subscription to OS app annually, best spent money. All maps on phone. 👍🏻

I love how you were disappointed by Shutlingsloe from that angle. I’ve been up there many a time and the routes down off it can be pretty tricky, especially with a dog pulling you. Love the walks around that area. Was walking from Teggs Nose to White Nancy and through Langley on Tuesday.
Absolutely adore The Peaks. Favourite playground. Do you ever have routes to follow on All Trails too? I love all trails.
