  4. The climber who fell from the ladder has no business being on the highest mountain of earth. He should go back Training on the village green.

  5. Хочу выразить бесконечное уважение шерпам. Это настоящие Люди с большой буквы. Смелые и отважные, пожалуй, с самой тяжёлой работой в мире.

  6. The worst part, he had to go back crossing many crevasses, facing his new fear of falling.

  10. There's a lot more going on here than just a crampon not lifted out of the rung cleanly. The victim is tired and the reaction is dulled down by his state of mind too. The twisting fall has resulted in the ropes getting tangled. Effectively he is now part of a knot with his weight making simple extraction impossible.
The Sherpas are well aware of the seconds only available in which the situation is rescuable. And having this happen very often with clients are experienced at assessing and working as a team. On Everest at altitude this is not like an obstacle course in a boot camp. The alternative to ladders is the old wood pole. Which today's clients are never going to accept even at sea level. Crampons make every step of a 6 hour continuous hike an effort. To take them off would be suicide. The teamwork gives this Sherpa the confidence to get close to the edge which is the only way this is going to be resolved. And it doesn't always turn out like this incident. Rainbow valley? Still the Sherpas are so humble.

  11. Respect to Himalayan sherpas and their ancient mountaineering skills. Best in the world. 👍

  12. if it was me I would have been like, that's it I am going back home, enough of this adventure and thrill.

  13. Why are people trying to cross a crevice on Mount Everest on a flimsy unsecured ladder. Even if it is secured in some way…… not safe imo
