😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner – we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

  1. We ate some seriously delicious food in todays video – let us know which was your favourite food. Do you like to try new foods when you travel or do you play it safe ?? Sorry if we made you hungry C&M xx

  2. Tacos Al Pastor is a favorite of mine. Also flavors of helados that are often popular is Coco, Fresia and Sandia. Be careful when you order some flavors they add spicy powder or sauce called Chamoy. The kids like the Mangonadas. But this is a very learned taste, I noticed that you like many Brits don’t like spicy. I love hot sauces but this is a flavor I don’t do. Trust me. That brand of ice cream bars are found in many different grocery stores especially along the border states. Here in San Antonio they have places that their own which are fantastic and I’m sure that you can find them in California and in Arizona. Same thing with NM but it is narrow with very few towns on Interstate 10 that you have an easier time getting it in Arizona

  3. That didn't look like a typical tamale next time get one that's been cooked in corn husks and Mary Ann should try a strawberry margarita. Another great video!!

  4. I saw him carving on the big rotisserie of pork,Tacos el Pastor, Mexican style pork tacos, my favorite. I hope you liked them!

  5. I am willing to try different foods. Just never been a Mexican or Southwest food fan (I live in Arizona). It's not all bad it's just not my favorite. Sign me up for a Doner Kebab in downtown Berlin Germany! I will take that over a currywurst any day! I do love some German food though! Love Chinese, Korean and Japanese food also. I loved spending time in Europe!

  6. That was an amazing day of lovely food…..We do love our Mexican food here also…so now are very hungry…And those Türkiye Lights are beautiful, we have collected about 5 so far to put into a new house we are building and still looking for more… Take care you two

  7. I love your life, I wish I had the b@lls to do what you both have done. But I can do the journey through your eyes, and that I love ❤😍 The prawn and beef did it for me!

  8. You guys are amazing ! I like how you make “normal” things looks interesting, I really enjoy every single video from you, it was a pleasure to meet you, I hope to see you in the future for share more Tequila 🎉😊❤

  9. Panella seared and topped with onion jam and chili will change your like

    And cotija cheese on anything.
But yea, agreed Mexican cheese is on point! And everyone just knows “queso” but there’s soooo much

  10. Loved chilaquiles when I was in Mexico many years ago. Yours look different though. Mine were more like what I would now think of as similar to a shakshuka – a warm tomato-y slightly spicy salsa with Tortilla pieces in it, poached egg and cheese on top.

  11. To be totally honest it took me a while to get used to the Mexican cuisine. I could not do the heat!!! Everything it's hot spicy!! But now you couldn't keep me away from it. It's just a matter of learning the sauces and telling which one is which. You guys inspired me to cook some chicken quesadillas today for dinner 😋
PS: Marianne, Margarita on the rocks is always much straight forward. I would recommend the slushy one. Much bueno🍹😉

  12. Great place and lots of food. Lol, I just said about the churro in Brighton. Our local coast a must and has to be done. X

  13. Wow the food looked so good 😋. What a lovely wee town so colourful !!!!
Mmmm homemade ice cream gotta be good 👌
Nothing quite like a few freebie tequilas 🤪
You guys have had me drooling all the way through this video 🤤🤤🫶

  14. I have just discovered your channel and I am loving your trip to Baja . Most of the videos from travelers I have seen focus on the beaches.I love your walks though towns and restaurant's you take us right to the meat if you will the heart and soul of the city you are in. I have subscribed and and keeping up with your travels .You take me where I will never go thank you !

  15. Wow that looked amazing and the colors of the city were beautiful! Thanks for sharing and God bless you both and keep you safe! ❤️🙏🤙

  16. Meksika usulü kahvaltı çok başarılı, meksika fasulyesi, meksika baharatlı sosu, baharatlı peynir, avokado, meksika böreği, yumurta ve meksika çöreği, gayet uyumlu ve lezzetli görünüyor. Afiyet olsun.

  17. Apart from the tamale`s, none of that was actually mexican street food. We are avid travellers and have toured Mexico on motorcycles many times. Buying from street vendors in non touristy towns is what i consider street food and less than half of what you were paying. Coffee for $4.00 ????

  18. We were in San Jose Del Cabo about 18 years ago and really liked it. Also did a tequila tasting and I remember being blown away by the different kinds and the really good ones tasting like liquid gold! Lovely to see all the yummy food!

  19. new suscriber to your awesome video series in baja, great job. I hope you are having a great time in mx. Btw, just a little thing, about eating in mex, the salsas that bring to your table are not only for you to consume, they are use for the other customers to eat there, they just move all the salsas to another table, then to another table, etc. so you shouldnt lick the salsa spoons. have a nice trip… =)

  20. a little hint when you have your mouth on fire and to ease up on the heat a pinch of salt or a drink of milk just in case you didn't know

  21. It was very good to see you guys a little tipsy in the second part of the day and how much you were enjoying your experience 😍

  22. I have to laugh. Another channel us heading to Mexico and several oeople have commented "NO! Never go to mexico it is way too dangerous." Such a joke. The only thing you are in danger of is overeating. Haha. I told them to check out your trip.

  23. LoL what you eat for breakfast would be a dinner for us 😁 Amazing video, love it!! I am a big fan of churros dipped in thick hot chocolate, since I grew up in Spain ❤️

  24. Hi guys, been following for yonks!!!
I have a serious question that I hope you will see.. I've travelled to plenty countries myself and some places they haven't met English people who can converse in their local language etc.. Mainly in Asia.
How are you finding Mexico for this? Are they in awe when they meet english people who can speak some Spanish?? Or are they not bothered? 😂 "I'm a about 18 months behind you on driving around the world" 😁
