Knowing Brazil for a while, you can’t ignore the fact that it has some of the most beautiful nature in the world. While most people travel to Rio, there’s a less traveled city in the south of Brazil and it has really amazing ecological tours.
While Iguazu Falls is a touristic and small city, it allows you to live a comfortable and inexpensive lifestyle. Check out my other videos of Iguazu Falls where I show full tours of the places I’ve visited there.
Now onto the top 7 places to see in this incredible city:
1. Las Cataratas meaning waterfalls
There are 3 ways to see them, my land, by boat and by helicopter
2. Parque das Aves
Meaning bird park. This is no zoo, but more of a preservation where nets have been build around a forest to monitor birds in their natural habitat.
3. ITAIPU Hyrdoelectric Dam
The second largest water dam in the world with 20 generators producting 14,000 megawatts of power.
4. CHEN TIEN BUDDHIST TEMPLE
Here you can appreciate buddhism by learning from the 120 buddhist statues. The entrance is free during the day and it includes a souvenir shop.
5. AQUAMANIA AND BLUE PARK
Two water parks in one city to spend the hottest summer days. Aquamania is the cheaper of the two and has more water slides if you are a thrill seeker.
Blue Park is has few slides but the main attraction is a giant pool with artificial waves and an artificial beach.
6. 3 FRONTEIRAS SHOW
The city has turned the location where the 3 countries meet into a spectacular dance show that’s only available at night. Come here to learn about the differences between Paraguayan dance, Argentinean tango, and Brazilian samba.
7. DREAMLAND PARK
– Influence by the American entertainment industry. This place has a giant transformer along wax-made celebrities, dinosaurs, and an ice bar. You can choose to do any one or all 3 for a small discount.
I have to mention Ciudad del Este is worth a visit as it’s known as the Wild Wild West of Paraguay. It’s only 15 minute ride across the friendship bridge. While most Brazilians do their tax-free shopping there, you can visit the additional waterfalls called Saltos del Monday.
