Snow is coming your way!
I live in a fairly small rig with one dog a jack Russell terrier. If I don’t break out the shop back at least once a day and give the floor a thorough vacuuming in one or two days it’s overwhelming hair and everything.
On the topic of leaving, how far are y'all from town?
I tell you, if I was a professor of human biology, it would be a requirement for my students to watch the podcast and write a paper 🥰
You guys are funny assuming it will not get cold again. It has been a crazy warm Winter but it is not over. Some of the biggest snows occur in March and April. But of course you are leaving…
Chris reminds me of my brother, and my brother is freekin amazing.
I was 20 minutes in when I noticed the huge log in the middle of the room …
How long would Chris would have lasted out there with G?
Hey brother! Yeah, it's a weird thing to set out to see if you can do something, then realize you took to it so quickly it is not even a challenge. At that point, it is no longer can you survive it, but can you bare it. And I don't think there is as much to learn from "Baring" things unnecessarily.
As far as treats from the store, again, CAN you survive without it? Sure you can. But why? Who are we really trying to impress? Others, or ourselves? And what do we get from either? Nothing worth making a cave painting over.
When I was young I sometimes purposely suffered just to be "Tough" and prove things to myself, and others. Then I learned others really didn't give a shit, and probably won't believe you anyway. And I also realized yeah, I KNOW I can if need be. So why waste precious days of life not just being more happy and comfortable. You've been to the rodeo and got the t-shirt. I say grab some freaking trail mix. Self deprevation is fine and even good once or so in life to make sure you can handle it. But once you know, you know. Any repetition again is just wasted days, IMO.
I only wear slip on shoes now for many reasons. And I am certainly not going to look for laces just to prove to the world I can tie them, lol.
And as a bag-boy at Safeway in Anchorage as a kid, people would come in and buy many thousands of dollars in food and snacks, etc to be flown out to their cabin in complete BFE. And I would dare anyone to say living full time in the Alaskan bush is "Easier" because they had boxes of Twinkies, lol. I learned long ago that survival is not about suffering. In fact from building a shelter, to putting sticks and snow over your water hole in the ice, it is all about making each daily chore easier, and as comfortable as possible. And taking full advantage of any and everything when given the opportunity. And that includes trail mix if you are near the store anyway.
And you know it's not the trail mix I am talking about, it's the point. Unfortunately The Galactic Federation doesn't hand out "Cool Kid" cards if we suffered more than others, or even just deprived ourselves of simple little joys we have found make us a little happier. It doesn't make chopping wood any easier. It just puts a little smile on our face. And little smiles is what it's all about.
Same with staying somewhere longer than we want to just because we "Said we would". Did you guys really spend the winter out there if you left a little sooner? Sure you did. You've been through the hardest parts. That was the challenge. Exactly how many flowers have to bloom before we can tell ourselves "We really did it! The entire winter!". You've already done it. Much more time and it's just semantics.
Anyway, I am sure you know you can "Boondock" on the water for up to two weeks at most large lakes and some rivers. For free some places. Makes me wonder if you guys should get a small pontoon boat, put it on a trailer pulled by a truck, and just sleep in it on the trailer between bodies of water and dry dock, then live on the water trying to live off mostly fish you catch for a while and truly "Wet dock"? Yeah, true "Wetdocking" that would be interesting!
Well, much love to you all from me and Nugget. I don't write you often any more, but that doesn't mean I am watching or caring any less. 🤘😁🐾🎸 – Kevin Venture
If you sleep with animals, it is inevitable to have hair in your food at times.🤣
wish my exhusband and I had talked this way with each other, I really feel like we might still be married today……because we still care for each other, and I loved him still when I left. But we never talked things out and that is why we grew apart. so good that you guys do
More video of the area, falls on river, etc pls.
Also, how did the water glassed eggs turn out? And the chicken?
I have the utmost love for who you are, Linnea, but it seems like maybe it doesn’t take much on Chris’s part to press your buttons. Not meant to offend…just an observation
Guys, we cant do it ..we cant spend 3 months away from family, snacks, and being comfortable..lol.
When you’re doing an endurance challenge, I’m not sure there’s really a difference between “easier” and “more enjoyable.” Anything feels easier if you’re enjoying it. I don’t think you’ve done exactly what you set forth, but that doesn’t mean you haven’t done something.
I'm so in the same headspace as Linnea with this. It's not about "making it harder." It's about keeping promises to yourself. And the creative challenge that ensues as a result. The creativity of the handmade gift was the ultimate gift. Being out there in the middle the forest and figuring it out together is the ultimate romantic experience.
PS Thanks for the book recommendation, Linnea. I've read three other books you recommended last year and they have greatly impacted my life. So I'll definitely read this one.
I have 3 indoor cats. I get the hair thing. lol
Watch out bears going to come put soon…
On your hobbies and other projects
A short version of what I posted earlier is, we know to do something over and over expecting a DIFFERENT result is a form of insanity and wasted time. But I have come to believe that doing something over and over than we already know we CAN do and expecting the SAME result, if not learning anything, is not that far removed.
However if..you had known you needed more of certain items you could have brought more…or items..as option to make replacement items..like spices to make salty snacks….
You. 2 are so very cool you-all have an amazing relationship
One hopes you both are involved in a marriage..lol
The last five minutes of this is just pure gold. 😂💯
I can see you two together for a long time, you are an adorable couple. If getting some goodies in town made your special day enjoyable, go for it. No failure there! Your aim was to make your Queen happy. Mission accomplished! I lived in Athens WI. for two years, in a heated farmhouse, snowiest coldest winter's of my life! You guys rock! Enjoy the experience!.

44:08 – floater comes down, headed for her cup, dips right, slips away. 😂😂
YAY!!! You answered my question…. Thanks so much guys 💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
I live with huskies and choosing the right fabrics will help with fur maintenance. I use outdoor furniture fabrics, canvas, velvet, denim, and satin ==all these fabric are fur resistant and easy to keep clean. A Swiffer can lift fur easily with minimal time and effort. scheduled brushing is also a good idea. I am with Linnea in the no-fur zone when it comes to drinks & food. Maybe Linnea can create a coffee mug lid for one of her projects.
Enjoy all your videos, but please do what you want not what your viewers want, you will learn as you get older it's best to listen to your heart and your partner's heart.
What a way to end a video 😅, "give me a smooch" "your breath smells like pepperoni" 🤣🤣🤣
I love they way you two are caring about what each of you really care about. How many only care what they want.
Ok you two get your crap together ❤ because you you 2 are my favorite couple of all time and I want to see a wedding lol.
