We’re starting off this episode of our Mauritius Road Trip with something special – swimming with wild dolphins! Mauritius is a great country for exploring beautiful nature and seeing a wide variety of wild animals. One of the activities that you can do on the island is see and swim with wild dolphins. As these are wild dolphins, however, seeing dolphins isn’t guranteed. So this episode of our road trip starts with us having got the call from a local tour operator that dolphins had been spotted and we’d have to leave right now. An amazing experience!

We then drive to stop number 6 on this road trip – Grand Baie. Grand Baie is one of the most popular tourist hotspots on Mauritius and we were excited to explore the place. In this video we share our first impressions of Grand Baie, eat at a great Creole Rougaille restaurant, go on a small snorkelling adventure, uncover a coffee mystery and eat delicious crepes that are a rare find on the island!

This video is part of a multi-part series of our ultimate ROAD TRIP THROUGH MAURITIUS! Mauritius is a popular honeymoon and beach holiday destination but it has so much more to offer than beautiful beaches (although there are many of them as well). We’re really excited to get to know this African island country and its culture and cuisine. On our road trip we’ll spend three weeks driving from the South up the West coast, then further into the North and finally down the East coast. Our goal is to get to know Mauritius from all sides, as well as check out its beautiful beaches and nature.

  1. as a mauritian, been loving this series! Feel free to reach out if you need any recommendations on the island

  2. Here's an idiosyncratic fun fact about me: despite looking like a French macaron praised by many Mauritians as being a subtle delicacy, I would never trade a Mauritian Napolitaine for a macaron. Tarte banane and Puit d'amour are also awesome
BTW, land erosion is appalling @5:34

  3. We hope you enjoyed this episode! In the next video we'll be doing a fun food-based challenge in Grand Baie – so join us for that one and also consider subscribing to never miss a video! 😊

  4. Nice video if u still around grand baie check out a cool resto called chez coolen its on the costal road nice place for seafood
