  1. I have almost the exact same set of Fuji lenses except that I have the 50-140 instead of the 70-300. Also have the Sirui 24mm and 50mm anamorphics 🙂

  2. i have the 14 F2.8; 25 F1.4; 50 F2; 18-55 F2.8-4; 70-300.

As i bought all of my primes in my recent trip to Japan, I have been using the 35F1.4 with my X-T5 the most and i really love it. It battered through the elements including a fall, hood down first from chest height.

For the next lens….I am thinking of replacing the 50 F2 to the 56 F1.4 WR and still having the dilemma of adding the 10-24 F4 and the 50-140 F2.8

  3. Hi
I agree with your decision to dispose of your 16-55 f2.8 lens.
I used this lens extensively with my X-H1, but for a number of months I'd been thinking that this combination defeated my decision to reduce weight/size of my kit which originally led me to change from Nikon full frame to Fuji X.
I've now reverted to using my X-Pro2 and use my original XF18mm f/2 & XF35mm F1.4. I also have the XF55-200 which I prefer to the other heavier larger alternatives, and rather against my intention to reduce size & weight, I've exchanged my XF14mm f/2.8 for the XF10-24mm f/4, which I agree is an excellent travel lens.
All I'm now looking forward to is the possibility of purchasing an X-Pro4 if/when it's announced and possibly upgrading the XF18mm F/2 for the new F1.4 version when I can afford it! – John G

  4. My line for this year are primes.
    XF 16 F1.4
    XF 33 F1.4
    XF 50 F1
XF 80 2.8 macro (which I find also serves as a good portrait lens if you want to create additional separation and bokeh).
If my wife or I will be away using our primary set up we have our backup set which consists of our zoom lenses:
    XF 10-24 F4,
    XF 16-80 F4 and…
    XF 100-400 F4.5-5.6

  5. When come's to travel weight is a big factor for me so in my travel bag I have the 70-300 paired with the 16-80 ( I sold my 16-55) the 33 f1.4 is the I can't go out whitout this one . I'm slowly getting use to the 18 1.4 so it's a keeper. I sold my 56 1.2 for this 18mm . I'm thinking about the 10-24 but I'm hesitating and I don't know why ! it would be ideal with the 70-300 and 16-80.

  6. I use same primes 33f1.4 and 18f1.4 with xt5 and I did last travels only with these. For short travels near home I add 50 140 f2.8 + 1.4x TC. All 3 lenses stay compressed in a 6l sling bag. I've also 16 55 f2.8 which I used very often in the past and I'm thinking to sell it, but I'm also thinking that it can be the only choice when you cannot switch lenses (rainy days or dusty environments).

  7. Great video. For leisure day trips, sometimes I just bring my 16-80, but definitely not my choice for night time use though. I've recently purchased the XF30mm F2.8 Macro and is basically using it as a lens cap on my X-T4. I also have the 56mm F1.2, which is great for social distancing street photography. There other two lenses are XF23 F2.0 and the 70-300. I will be going to Tokyo for vacation and am in the process of deciding which lenses to bring with me for street photography. Any recommendations/tips will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  8. The 16-55 is a great lens but its so overdue a upgrade, It should be allot lighter, the sigma 18-50 is so much nicer to use due to the weight.

  9. I use the 16-80 as my default walk-around and travel lens, and have been very happy with the results, first on a X-S10, and more recently on my X-H2. I complete my trinity of zooms with the 10-24 (mostly for landscapes), and the 70-300 (general purpose long lens but handy for wildlife, intimate details in landscapes, and even macro). I complement the zooms with a fast primes that I use for specific types of shoots: the 13/1.4 for astro; the 23/1.4 for low light street; and the 33/1.4 for portraits or other situations when I want a razor thin DOF/boke.

When I travel I usually take a sub-set of these lenses, depending on what I expect to come across. For example, trips with a main focus on landscapes will include the 3 zooms and the 13 for astro. For trips to more urban settings, I usually bring the 2 longer zooms, plus the 23 if I expect to be able to shoot street in low light.

  10. Hi, I own the 16-80, the 18-55, the 33 1.4 and the 70-300. And I have the viltrox 13 1.4 too, and lot of vintage glass. I'm no longer looking for fuji glass, since I own a Sony camera too, and my next lens will be the tamron 28-75 g2. I prefer by far the zoom lenses in Full frame rather than apsc.

  11. Hi,
    For travel, I'm stil undecided between 18 + 33 or 23 + 56, also to not bring the 16-55.

  12. nice video and gear.. last month i turned to old cheap Fuji XT10 & use cheap 25mm f1.8 7artisan and my old cheap lenses from my old nikon on it.. yongnuo 50mm f1.4 and yongnuo 100mm f2 with K&F adapter.. it's hard to get focus, but yeah i'm enjoying it because i can't afford lenses from Fuji.. XD
