The Fuji 23mm f2 has a bit more character than the 50mm f2. By that I mean that the Fuji 23mm f2 has more vignetting when shooting wide open and it’s a little softer than the 50mm f2 when it comes close focus.
The 50mm f2 is an overall better performer when it comes to shooting wide open at F2 as well as close-focus. However, they both complement each other really well across shooting scenarios. The fact that both are Weather Resistant (WR), have internal focussing, and robust construction makes them really wonderful to use.
For most of these pictures I set the Fujifilm X-T4 to Dynamic Range Priority (DR-P) which as I understand it applies some automated tone-mapping by combining the Dynamic Range boost with the Highlight and Shadow settings. When using Fuji X Raw Studio, DR-P disables the ability to adjust the highlight and shadow tone, so then the only way to affect exposure is through the exposure push and pull control, which then seems to operate along some sort of curve that protects the highlights a little more than without DR-P.
