Hiroshima was the biggest surprise of our trip to Japan. We didn’t know what to expect but were greeted with a modern skyline, bustling streets and incredible autumn foliage.
In this video, we provide an overview of the city’s history, including its role as the first city in history to experience the devastating impact of an atomic bomb. We’ll take you on a tour of some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Museum and the Atomic Bomb Dome. We’ll also talk about the meaning behind some of Hiroshima’s monuments and sculptures, including the Bell of Peace, the Flame of Peace and the Children’s Peace Monument. The first part of the video is not easy to watch but we hope it helps to inspire you to visit this amazing city.

We were here right before Christmas and were treated to the most beautiful Christmas lights show. We also had amazing food (including the traditional okonomiyaki). It’s an honour to share the beauty of Hiroshima and hope that you too, one day, can experience this city’s unique culture and history for yourself.

In the next episode, we’re taking a ferry to the beautiful Miyajima Island. We’ll sample local cuisine, browse traditional markets, and experience momiji at its best. 🍁 🦌 See you there!

  1. Sorry for taking so long to post this one! I hope you enjoy this one and that we've shown you Hiroshima in all its glory! πŸ’–πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

  2. An amazing video with such poignant coverage of Hiroshima showing both sides of it. People don’t always think of it as a place where people live and work today so it’s super nice to see.
