Do you know these Japanese foods?
All of these food are specialty of AKITA— it’s a prefecture located in the north of Japan.
And yes, the famous AKITA DOG is from here, but let’s go back to food 😆
1. KIRITANPO is mashed rice that is shaped into cylinders and toasted. It can be put into soups with meat and vegetable or serve with miso paste.
2. HINAI JIDORI OYAKODON is not your ordinary Oyakodon (chicken and egg simmered in broth served on top of rice) because it uses Hinai Jidori, which is one of the 3 great chicken breads in Japan— the other 2 are Nagoya Kochin, and Satsuma Jidori.
Hinai Jidori is a free range chicken that has a tender and juicy meat.
3. BARAYAKI
It’s made from thin slices of beef marinated in sweet soy sauce and LOTS of onion. It is then grilled and eaten with rice.
