早咲きの河津桜が見頃　静岡県河津町

静岡県河津町で、早咲きで全国的に知られる「河津桜」が見頃を迎えている。町内を流れる河津川の両岸には約８５０本が植えられ、四分から七分咲きに。訪れた人たちは陽気の中、鮮やかなピンク色に染まった並木の下を歩いていた。

Crowds gravitate to Shizuoka Prefecture to enjoy early cherry blossoms

Video footage taken on Feb. 18 in Kawazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, shows crowds enjoying a beautiful day beneath the blossoms of the area’s early-blooming “Kawazu-zakura” cherry trees. The 850 tress planted along the banks of the Kawazugawa river are expected to keep their petals until at least the end of the month and will be illuminated in evenings until March 5.
