Tokyo Station represents Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
From this station is the starting point for the Shinkansen bullet trains that connect various parts of Japan at high speed, with various trains going to Hokkaido and Tohoku, Nagano and Hokuriku, Nagoya, Kyoto, Osaka, and even Kyushu. This huge terminal has about 3,000 trains arriving and departing per day. Therefore, there are a large number of platforms, both above and below ground, which can be complicated if you are not familiar with them. The station is also very spacious, so it may be fun just to stroll around the station.
Tokyo Station’s Marunouchi Station Building was designated a National Important Cultural Property in 2003. Tokyo Station and Mojiko Station in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, are the only two stations in Japan designated as Important Cultural Properties.
This station building is on the Marunouchi side of the east side of Tokyo Station. The area in front of the station is wide and spread out, and the plaza in front of the station leads to the Imperial Palace.

東京駅の丸の内駅舎は2003年に国の重要文化財に指定されました。重要文化財に指定されている駅は日本国内では東京駅と福岡県北九州市にある門司港駅の2駅のみです。
この駅舎は東京駅の東側の丸の内側です。駅前は広く広がっており、目の前の広場を正面に進むと皇居にたどり着きます。
