With 3- hour train rides from Tokyo, Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture is known as the gateway to the Japanese Alps. This is a video of the final day of the Annual Matsumoto Castle Ice Sculpture Festival. Ice sculptures are created in the downtown on the first day of the event, and the competition is held in Matsumoto Castle Park on the second day. The top-level ice sculpture artists get together , creating ice sculptures through the night. Visitors can enjoy the delicate and artistic ice sculptures with Matsumoto Castle and the Japan Alps in the background.
