We’re back on another week-long light bikepacking trip, this time starting in Shizuoka City, making our way to Mie Prefecture. We call it light, as we stayed in hotels instead of pitching a tent, which allowed us to take much less gear than most bikepackers! This video is our first day – taking our cross bike and mountain bike on the shinkansen to Shizuoka City and then cycling 62 km to Kikugawa City, famous for its tea fields.

We were blessed with clear blue skies and 26 degrees. As usual, we squeezed in lots of sightseeing spots to take in local highlights and get a better understanding of Shizuoka Prefecture.
