Buriram Thailand Travel Vlog (ISAAN): Buriram United vs Chonburi, MotoGP Circuit, Volcano Park

On day 2 we stayed closer to the center of Burriam – only a 10-15 minute drive from our hotel! We started the day at Khao Kradong Forest Park. This is a park on top of an extinct volcano!! We had heard that there was a giant buddha statue on top of the hill as well as a nice viewpoint, but it was so much cooler than we thought! After we ran up the 305 stairs to the top of the volcano, we also found a ‘lava slide’ down to the crater of the volcano and a neat suspension bridge!
After we left the Khao Kradong Forest Park, we headed 5 minutes back towards Buriram city to stop by the International Circuit MotoGP Track! It’s the only motoGP track in Thailand and it happens to be here in Buriram! We also got SO lucky with our timing as it was an open track day so there were people racing motorcycles as we watched! It was such a cool experience to hear the bikes racing by as we were some of the only people in the stands! Another fun fact about the International Circuit in Buriram? The racer who holds the fastest lap EVER on this track is a Catalan (like Carles)! During his fastest lap he went 337 kilometers per hour (or 209 miles per hour)!!!
After we left the International Circuit, we headed back to the Buriram Castle which is between the International Circuit and the Buriram United stadium. The Buriram Castle is actually a replica of Phanom Rung (where we went in our last video). We were amazed as we had never seen a castle at a football stadium before!! We explored the Buriram Castle and also checked out the Thai food market next to it where we tried some more Isan food.
We still had a lot of time before the Buriram United vs Chonburi game, so we decided to go go karting! We walked to the go kart place close to the stadium. It was so much fun!
After that, it was time to get ready for the Buriram United game! The area was so much busier than it was earlier in the day! As the Buriram United stadium is called ‘Chang Arena’, the only beer they have for sale is Chang (we prefer Singha/Leo)! We ended up drinking some chang beers in the tailgate area outside of the stadium. Once inside the stadium, Carles was amazed at how nice the stadium was! We saw a crazy game between Buriram United and Chonburi. I was SO confused during the first goal because it was a goal, then no goal, then we were confused, then it WAS a goal 🤷‍♀️ anyway, we were amazed at how nice everyone was! All the fans got along together and were cheering on the opposing teams which is something we’re not used to in our home countries!
It was another amazing day in Buriram!!!
