Our family climbed Mt. Fuji on September 19, 2018. We used the Fujiyoshida Trail. We hiked in September after the close of the “official” hiking season. For the first two hours we did not see another hiker on the mountain. I would certainly recommend climbing in the off-season to avoid the crowds. However, the stations along the way will be closed so you need to come prepared with your own food and proper gear. We started at 6:50 a.m. and finished up right about 5:00 p.m.

Hike time: 10:38
Total Distance: 9.83 miles (15.6 km)
Elevation gain: 5,143′ (1,568 m)
Mt. Fuji elevation: 12,389 ft (3,776.24 m)
