We continued our god level street food tour in Izmir by trying a delicacy here, söğüş. This heavenly dish is very unique, söğüş is made from the meat of a sheep’s head, but as a cold cut! Not just the meat, but the tongue and brain as well, this dish is just god level and we couldn’t believe how heavenly it tasted.

Izmir köfte are on another köfte level, god level, made with an extra helping of cumin and chili pepper. We stopped into a very old shop in the Kemeralti Bazaar for this local and heavenly specialty.

  1. Wooow!!! What an amazing video. You guys made me miss Izmir and its food. Everything looked so good and delicious. Thanks a lot for sharing. Keep up the great work 💪

  2. I love your videos, your enthusiasm and I love the fact that you try almost everything without a prejudice. I agree that the taste of Söğüş is actually good if you can get over the fact that you are eating brains 😂😂 If you will go towards Cesme, definitely try Basri sandwich in Kumrucu Hikmet but beware of the chili pickles that they give as a side dish, they are very hot. Also Alaçatı, Dalyan and Çesme has amazing bakeries, you should try Boyoz. 😉😊 Afiyet olsun…

  3. If u r in Izmir find some stuffed mussels. But ask a local where u can find clean and fresh. U can't and should not eat mussels everywhere. But if u find good stuffed mussel dealer u will see that they taste 10x better than the mussels in Istanbul ;). Izmir is one of the relaxed, chilled, educated, and open-minded cities in Turkey. And the women, besides Stef, are the most beautiful in the world <3 😀 If u plan to go to Çeşme I could recommend u some good restaurants there 😉

  4. Hey everyone, hope you're having a great day. Let us know what your favourite food was in the video. Thanks so much for watching! 😄

  5. Welcome to Izmir and dont forget that SIMIT is in Izmir called GEVREK 😁😉 Ahahahah I can see on Steph‘s face that its not her meal with this Sögüs 😁😂

  6. Absolutely loved the video! So very interesting and can't wait to see more of Izmir! Each of the Bombas looked amazing and so did everything else but I think I would have to pass on the lamb's brain/ head wrap!
Keep up the great work, guys!
