Hi friends,
This video is about our travel to Shirakawa village in Japan. We visited Shirakawa-go on January 3rd, 2023. Shirakawa is a village located in Ōno District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is best known for being the site of Shirakawa-gō, a small, traditional village showcasing a building style known as gasshō-zukuri. Gassho-zukuri means “constructed like hands in prayer”, as the farmhouses’ steep thatched roofs resemble the hands of Buddhist monks pressed together in prayer. Shirakawa-go is also a UNESCO world heritage site.
