2023年1月後半。10年に一度と言われる大寒波が日本列島を覆いました。
INUはちょうどその期間に２泊３日の旅行を予定していたのです。（ホテルも予約済みでした。）
この大寒波で、北陸地方や関西では大雪のため高速道路や電車の立ち往生が相次ぎました。
そんな中、東京〜静岡だけは晴れていたのです。 しかし、油断はできません。関東や静岡の平地にも積雪の恐れがあるという予報も出ていたのです。
ギリギリまで様子をみたのですが、天気予報では東京や静岡は快晴のようでしたので、予定通りに出発しました。
１日目は、東京から下田までのドライブです。
途中、箱根ターンパイク、伊豆スカイライン、汐吹き岩、大室山リフトなどを経由しながら、下田ビューホテルの最上階コーナースイートにチェックイン。
“元気な百姓達の菜の花畑”や”石廊崎（石室神社）”などを見てまわりました。
天気に恵まれた１日目でした。

ボクはインドネシア生まれ、アメリカ出身、東京育ちの”INU” だいぬ〜。
旅行やドライブが大好きだいぬ〜。観光地やB級スポットを巡るのが好きなんだいぬ〜。
道端の変な物や”顔出しボード”とかも好きなんだいぬ〜。
In late January 2023, a cold wave, said to be the worst in a decade, covered the Japanese archipelago.
INU had just scheduled a 3-day/2-night trip during that period and had already booked a hotel.
The cold wave caused heavy snowfall in the Hokuriku and Kansai regions, which resulted in a series of highway and train delays and stop.
In such a situation, only the area between Tokyo and Shizuoka was clear. However, one cannot be too careful. There was a forecast that even the flat areas of Kanto and Shizuoka were threatened with snow accumulation.
We waited until the last minute to see what the weather would be like, but the forecast looked clear for Tokyo and Shizuoka, so we left as planned.
The first day was a drive from Tokyo to Shimoda, Shizuoka.
On the way, we checked into the Shimoda View Hotel’s top-floor corner suite, via the Hakone Turnpike, Izu Skyline, Shiofuki Iwa, and Omuroyama Lift, “rape blossom fields of cheerful peasants” and “Irouzaki (Irou Shrine).
The first day was blessed with fine weather.
