Guimaras Island is one of the popular tourist destinations near Iloilo City. The island is best known for its delicious mangoes and beautiful beaches in the south for island hopping.
After the craze of the Dinagyang Festival, I went to Guimaras Island to explore its beauty. On my list, there were several popular tourist spots such as Guisi Lighthouse and Taklong Island, as well as less touristy places such as Tajanlangit Cove and a long pier in Tando.
To move from one place to another, I drove my motorcycle because each destination was far. I was told that mangoes and beaches were the best on the island, but what I realised at the end of the trip was that the roads on the island were quite nice. It was so smooth and flat and looked very well-maintained. I’ve driven to many places in the Philippines, but the roads in Guimaras Island were the best of the best in the Philippines so far.
