Hey guys! Today I’m going over my top 5 reasons why I love living in rural Japan! The countryside (inaka) of Japan is GREAT and I definitely you should move there! I cannot stress enough how much I recommend it for people who intend on coming to Japan to teach English for awhile and want to experience more than just Tokyo.
I was very fortunate to be placed in an overall nice place to live. Of course when you come on programs like JET, you can’t really control where exactly you’ll be placed. Some people will end up on inconvenient islands while others will live 30 minutes outside a major city and both are loosely considered to be inaka here, so I think a bit of superiority complex has developed amongst foreigners over whose inaka is the most inaka 😂
This week and next week I’m quite busy with school! I’ll be publishing a video about why I DON’T like the inaka next week, so please stay tuned for that 🥺

I'm not opposed to living in a Inaka but the "tight nit community" thing is creepy to me. I like not knowing everybody 🤣
I’ve just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos! I plan on applying to JET when I graduate Uni next year and I 100% want to live in the countryside 😌🌷
Great upload very nice thank you for sharing. thumbs up! 👍😍 Greetings from Rossella and Umberto 💖 Italy
Applied for 2021. I'm hoping to be shortlisted and placed in rural Osaka. Most JETs in my city are chicago JETs and they're always placed in Osaka. One of my friends taught English that was located on the mountains in Osaka. I'm hoping to be placed in the country side Osaka.
I love the idea of so many festivals. It gets people active in the community in a way that I think is really lacking where I live. We all just sort of exist in the same space here, but I love that Japanese traditions have such a focus on community. But also I feel like the reality of so many festivals might exhaust me lmao
Alli chan!!! I didn't know you have a YouTube channel!!! Thanks for mentioning the guide club. 6 students signed up this year again and we are gonna start the class later this month. Your tears make me into tears 😭. We all miss you. Now let's hear what you are gonna tell about what you don't like about us! Just kidding😆
Hey Allison, thanks for sharing this! I'm considering applying for the JET program for next year! I was wondering which Inaka town did you end up teaching in? 🙂
what program do you teach with?
