I was told by friends that the best breakfast experience in Bangkok could be found at the new Marriot Marquis hotel on Sukhumvit 22. As it’s listed on the Eatigo app, it’s available at a 50% discount, coming to 612 Baht (Β£16 GBP / $20 USD). Not too bad for all you can eat international food in a 5 star hotel restaurant.
I was sure to get even better value though, as I had been up all night and worked up a large appetite by doing laps in my condominium swimming pool. It was going to be more of a supper feast than a breakfast one.
I was surprised at how busy the restaurant was. I was told by the staff that the (massive) hotel was almost fully booked that night. Despite how many guests were there I didn’t have to queue or wait long for anything I wanted, other than the bill……

The Peninsula has a great breakfast buffet as well. Just donβt go when the Chinese are there on vacation or you will get no fruit. They pile all the Exotic fruit on their plates and leave you nothing. Even when they know youβre waiting behind them for a little fruit.

I just wanted to ask you one thing Mr Dale the 4-5 Rambutan fruits which you took with the pancake does it tastes like Lychee ?

Carrying 2 glasses of fruit juice requires practice and you didn't crash that was amazing π
looks good but the guy keeps playing with his hair over each station. And if you don't like hard bacon try the soft bacon next to the one you chose from bud. And try sitting down for a sec and eat proper.

Oui tu perds souvent le fil. MDR un Γ©cossais qui mange un petit crabe avec la carapace. Pour info on mange la chair du crabe mais pas la carapace. Mais tu les fais toutes. Chute de vespa Γ l'arrΓͺt. Yes you often lose track. MDR a Scottish who eats a small crab with the shell. FYI we eat the crab meat but not the shell. But you do them all. Fall from stationary vespa. Possibly one of the better hotel breakfast buffets in Bangkok, but certainly not the best. The atmosphere reminds me of a train station concourse. The choice is huge, but I'm sure the quality and service is better at the Mandarin Oriental, Waldorf Astoria or the new upmarket hotels like Capella. But Marriott Marquis is still the only one where you get 50% discount. Others don't need that.
