I have been to Tokyo before but this time it didn’t feel the same. I loved the area we stayed but if you have an image of Tokyo in your head this may not be it! I preferred it though. You gotta this this area called Akasuka.

M O R E A B O U T U S

My name is Brian but everyone calls me Greeny. I retired in January of 2020 after working 30 years in Law Enforcement. I wanted to retire young enough to be able to do some of the things I always dreamed about! I knew I wanted to travel extensively and retire somewhere warm and exotic I sampled a ton of places in the Caribbean, Panama, Colombia, Turkey but set my sights on Thailand. In 2020 I met Fai on a Tinder date and we hit it off immediately. We have been inseparable ever since!

I started making videos as a hobby but now it is more like a passion.

  1. Go Lion, like your Detroit Lions shirt. Great video Greeny. Hope you are having a good time in Japan. Looking forward to more.

  2. Hey Greeny, did you get the gold ice cream? As I remember that gold looking Nike sign (I know its not that) is the Kirin beer factor. Did you go across the river?

  3. Believe it or not.. thats the best way to get where you wanted to go… the subways at tokyo station go down as far as 11 stories…. the traditional garb is not unusal… and window food displays are normal… wait till your 11 stories down and there is an earthquake… fun wow… in the 30 years I visited Japan the traditional old generation.. where the streets were cleaned by hundreds of workers with brooms at night gave way to automation.. the respect for the class system and working for one company all your life disapered…. you always tell people your company name, your position and your name last.. the company is most important… did FI follow you two steps behind.. my wife had great difficulity being seen as someone who has to be submissive to her husband…. The Kimono is a very warm outfit…. hopefully you made it to the akihabara area in tokyo. Hopefully you had a canned hot coffee…. truly interesting…

  4. Lol… I've been to Asakusa, pretty awesome place! 👍

When I went to Tokyo, I took the express train directly to the main train station, very comfortable. Not sure why you would go via bus? 🤔

  5. Great video Greeny! I would however recommend a wardrobe consultant so they can recommend another sweatshirt other than the Detroit Lions!!! Lol😂

  6. Asakusa's the traditional/old part of Tokyo. Renting out a kimono or a yukata in that district is probably one of the most popular tourist thing to do.

The Senso-ji you visited was actually destroyed during the fire bombing of Tokyo in WW2, and rebuilt in 1958 (same exterior look, but now with modern materials like a titanium roof). The other buildings on the grounds were built or rebuilt all the way through to the 70s. The only one that survived the fire bombing was the Asakusa Shrine (off to the side of the main temple).

  7. Haneda Airport
_ It is preferable to use Haneda over Narita.
Even if there is a bit more expensive.
    — Round trip from Dwtwn Tokyo to/from Narita can take most of a day from your vacation.
And the train/bus can be expensive.

  8. Wow thanks greeny. This is on my bucket list looks awesome. Been to Tokyo’ a few times never ventured out maybe need to nice sweeter. Good job by the lions beating packers to knock them out of the playoffs

  9. Always makes me laugh when you take a bite of food, then show it to the camera so we can see how much flavour it has in it.
And as Farr might say "not funny"

  10. Hey Greeny! How much money does youtube (Google adsense) pay small channels like yours approximately?

Is the payment in American dollars or is the currency paid based on where you live? I'm confused

And last question do they pay once a month or biweekly?
