In this Japan Vlog we explore neighbouring cities, Nara and Kyoto.
In Nara, we visit the incredible Tōdai-ji Temple with a 15 metres tall Buddha! Then peckish as always, we start snacking. First stop, Melon de Melon for their freshly made and warm Earl Grey melon pan. Second stop, the very famous Nakatanidou matcha pounding. Third stop, Maguro Koya is a MUST GO – run by a very sweet elderly couple, this place specialises in tuna and is soooo fresh and generous in it’s portion size. Next, DEERS!! You can’t go to Nara without bowing and petting some beautiful deers.
In Kyoto, we explore everything the city of culture and nature has to offer. We start with checking out Kinkakuji, visit the very popular Bamboo Forest, and ended the night on a delicious feed at Gogyo (which is unfortunately closed now, but there’s one in Sydney, Aus!!). Next morning, we hike Fushimi Inari temple at sunrise, watch a traditional wedding ceremony, test our love connection with the Love Stone test at Kiyomizu-dera temple, eat our way through Nishiki market, and finally have an incredible dinner at Chojiro….oh and then Calvin has McDonalds after that too HAHA.
WOW, didn’t realise how much we truly did..and ate!!
