Today I explore “Higashi-asahikawa (東旭川)”, the east district of asahikawa city.
In this compact district you can see 3 landmarks, a small local station, historical park & museum, and Asahikawa shrine.
If you go further away just a little few minutes, you can also reach the Asahiyama Zoo.

I start my walk from calm residential area to reach the distinations.
It’s not too urban or rural but is so comfortable to walk.
You can feel a tranquil atmosphere and see snowed townscape with sunny.

Enjoy your walk!

  1. Temple? 法別無外心 The cryptic message looks like that could be the case. Maybe a Zen Temple. I cannot see anything to indicate what it is in Google Maps.

  2. I watched the video and then wondered, why is it such a small station with no one there? Then I discovered the places one could go west on the Sekihoku line. So many places to explore! Thanks for inspiring future visits.
