CNN Travel Teaser: Tōhoku, Japan

I spent a week with CNN, exploring Japan’s Northern region of Tohoku. I was awed by the local culture, stunning landscapes, friendly people and fascinating history of this land. I had never heard of Tohoku, which is just a short bullet train ride north of Tokyo. Between the cherry blossoms, the hot springs, Wanco-soba and the samurai houses or “Kakunodate”, I couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised with this historical region. It felt like walk back in time.
