There’s no city like New York! and I just couldn’t miss it on my round-the-world trip. Firstly, I parked my bike at my cousin’s place and walked as much as I could around Manhattan.

Thank you for joining me on my little tour around New York.

In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don’t know my final destination or the duration of this journey.

Throughout my journey, I’m raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. All the money raised will go directly to helping Franek and his family lead as normal a life as possible so please donate generously: https://gogetfunding.com/arewethereyet/

None of that would be possible without my official sponsors:

  1. Protect your bike and yourself the crime is ramped in the US thanks to all the loony liberal politicians I felt safer in Iraq then I did in New York. And I traveled 2 years in the middle east in 2003 and lived for a short time in NYC.

  4. Definitely NOT the best city in the world. Massive pollution, traffic, crime, corruption, greed and expense. All in all…a sh!thole but with culture and some nice areas.

  5. Diversity city….every type freak & criminal you can imagine. (warning) carry a concealed 9 mm.

  6. How nostalgic…reminds of when I first arrived in NY. in the late 70s. Beautiful walk. At that time the "Twin Towers" still existed and I managed to climb up to see the view.😊👍👍👍

  7. Great city Kinga, was there several times by myself.
Especially Times Square and Central Park.
Love the bridges and of course memorial 9/11 as a firefighter.
Staten Island etc etc. Love this city 👊🏼💪🏼👍🏼👌🏼🤩

  8. 🗽I see so many NY Yankees baseball caps on other peoples videos. Wild Lens by Abrar has people with keffiyeh headdress and others with the Yankee headdress. I think ,in some parts, Yankee was not a favorable term. It may have started within the US .
I stayed in Connecticut and took a train into NYC on the weekend, so I have a feel for transportation. The UN building was still there.

  9. Thank you Kinga. That was an amazing video. !! I love watching the way you see things and your editing is brilliant. Have fun. Regards from Cape Town.

  10. That was a most pleasant tour of NYC. Great to see the various spots where people can just hang out.

  11. WAY late to the game but I'm gonna leave a comment so YouTube will push your vlog out to more viewers. The last time I was in NYC was 1964. Well before you were born, Kinga. I had a 2nd degree burn on my hand and 8 or 10 stiches in my knee from a motorcycle accident the week before. I was with my family and we drove from Salt Lake City to attend the World Fair.
I didn't recognize any one I met, back then, in your video. Maybe they all moved to Texas and I'll see them in one of your future Vlogs..😁

  12. I do NOT agree… People are not helpful, but want your money..
Everywhere.. it is ONLY the money..
They smile.. for the "Green" buck.
You can be very lucky, to find 1-one honest human.
Make a tour to the top of Empire State Building… long ques of people, standing in line for hours.. there is NOT one single chair for a elderly person..Have fun in hot summer..!
Staff is yelling everywhere.. Restaurant, subway.. shops etc.
TRY to find a gas-station in Manhattan.. ((Do not trust the Navi!!)
Do not break your leg, walking around in the streets..
A car-rental across the Waldorf – Astoria Hotel at 50th street.. delivered my car.. new damaged from the upper floor hit a pole.. of this garage.. (at the driver door.) comment (It's insurance covered")
NO excuse… but wanted a TIP..!!!
So many examples, I was glad to leave NYC..!!!!!!
    HAVE FUN… 🤢
    (Berlin🇩🇪) Visit in 2009
(I know the USA from all corners, drove in Canada and USA with my own Honda 750, flown in with Wardair in 1982)

  13. I was thinking I understand you however I am wrong. NY is a city just full of concrete and iron. Ah yes, and an artificial park. That's all. Do you have a gun? Be safe.

  14. Kinga, this was a little different. No Bike!☹ But, still a good video. You are living the life!!!!

  15. LOL – Every time people visiting us on the east coast and we took them to NYC, had that same weather and had to frantically cover up on the site-seeing bus. I lived about an hour outside the city, and it was great to be able to catch a train downtown and visit – but while I enjoyed visits, I wouldn't want to live in the city. Enjoyed the access to great museums, events, etc. for 3 years, but was happy to move on.
