From Sounkyo town (層雲峡), we took the Daisetsuzan Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway (大雪山層雲峡・黒岳ロープウェイ) up to Sounkyo Station (層雲峡駅.) From there, we took Kurodake Chairlift (黒岳ペアリフト) even higher up Mt. Kurodake (黒岳), where we then began our hike to the summit. This video shows views from our ride on the chairlift, which includes Mt. Kurodake as well as the gorgeous “Koyo” (紅葉) Autumn leaves.
