Held at Tokyo Dome every January, Furusato Matsuri features famous festivals from all over Japan. In this video, you can enjoy “Nebuta” from Aomori City.

Nebuta, Aomori Prefecture’s famous summer festival, is known for its floats and lanterns parading through the streets at night. Those floats are created over the course of a year by specialists called Nebuta-masters. At Furusato Matsuri, visitors can see an actual float used in the latest festival, as well as the Nebuta performance by “haneto”.

We recommend visiting the festival on weekdays as it is very crowded on weekends. It will be a fun and unique experience to see parts of various Japanese summer festivals in winter.
