Highlights from our dinner on our last night (of 3) at Chikusenso Mt. Zao Onsen Resort & Spa (竹泉荘) in Zao Machi, Miyagi, Japan (宮城県蔵王町). This evening we were treated to a Fugu course, where all (savory) dishes were Fugu except for one. The food dishes were explained in Japanese, so I’ve translated them to the best of my ability. They are:

DISH 1:
Fugu No Kawa No Sumiso-ae (河豚の皮の酢味噌和え – Fugu Skin with Vinegared Miso Paste)

DISH 2:
Fugu No Yaki Metsuke (河豚の焼目付)

DISH 3:
Fugu Sashimi (河豚刺身)

DISH 4:
Yaki Fugu (河豚焼き – Grilled Fugu)

DISH 5:
Anago No Shirayaki (穴子の白焼き – Grilled Conger Eel with Salt)

DISH 6:
Fugu Karaage (河豚唐揚げ)

DISH 7:
Fugu Chiri (河豚ちり – Fugu Hot Pot)

DISH 8:
Fugu Zosui (河豚雑炊 – Fugu Rice Soup)

DISH 9:
Dessert (Didn’t hear exactly what it was, sorry)
