Hoshino Resorts Kai Nikko (星野リゾート 界 日光), a luxury ryokan in Nikko, Tochigi, Japan (栃木県日光市), does not offer Onsen (natural mineral hot springs bath) in any of their rooms. You either have a choice of visiting the communal bath (大浴場) or renting a private open-air onsen bath (貸切露天風呂) by the hour. Not ideal, especially if your desired time is already taken. It also costs 3300 yen for the privilege of using the private rental onsen bath.
