Madeira Monte Palace Garden Walking Tour 4K, Portugal 2022

This masterpiece located in the town of Monte of Funchal city, open to the public since 1991, was created by José Berardo and includes one of the most important tile collections in Portugal, exposed among tropical vegetation and belonging to various eras. They come from palaces, churches, chapels, and private homes throughout the former Portuguese empire.

Monte Palace Garden Madeira Museum is an ideal exhibition space nestled within the beautiful surroundings of a tropical garden. There are three floors, two of which are dedicated to sculptures and the third houses a unique mineral collection gathered from the four corners of the world.

The alleys of the garden have been enriched with a collection of tiles from the 16th to the 20th centuries, highlighting the panels dedicated to the “History of Portugal” and the “Adventure of the Portuguese in Japan”. In the garden you can also see shields, stonework, sculptures, niches, pagodas, Buddhas and lanterns.
