We bought an old Japanese house (Akiya). This abandoned Japanese house is in rural Japan. Follow our Akiya home renovation and Japanese countryside living. I bought a JDM Kei truck AKA Japanese Mini Truck to help clean the previous owner’s property and daily Japanese rural living. We travel Japan as much as possible and provide travel tips in Japan.

  1. interesting video! Your Japanese is great. especially because of your politeness. "Sumimasen" can take you a long way in Japan.

  2. At 4:23 the garden stones are treasures! Now I'll continue the video! Thanks for re creating your video tour. The other view of the stone garden in the snow is a dream of mine!

  3. Cool video of the area. I don’t know if I would want to live in that old guys house with the wood stove. Right on the road just a small slip in the snow and you would have a car in your living room. 😂

  4. Hi. I understood your Japanese well. Your Japanese is improving! If we have a chance to talk in the future, it would be fun in Japanese. Good Luck on your projects.

  5. There is much to admire what your doing over there in Japan, we heard you speaking Japanese to a good presentable standard, and would say from my experience of Japan 25 years ago the people in the countryside do not speak very much or good english, therefore it essential to speak Japanese. Cheers from NZ Jimu

  6. Really enjoy the content. Would you consider talking about the taxes or hidden fees to living in Japan? I want to buy an aikya but curious about the yearly expenses

  7. this area is sooo beautiful…..the valleys and the trees……the colours are just right….its my dream to live in such an area in japan !!!!!

  8. I'm all about the Kei trucks! 😎✌️ I've got an electric. I'm looking dorward to exploring inaka life this summer. Thanks for sharing your journeys!

  9. Gotta say that’s a really beautiful area, Lawrence! Also, agree with you on the kei truck. We should have got one from the beginning.
