Koyasan a UNESCO World Heritage Site is in the high mountains of Wakayama prefecture. It is an all season place to visit and we prefer the winter time. Snow falls 24hours so most of the guest houses are closed and even restaurants.

The view while on the train is already priceless and picturesque. Go there in winter time preferably around January and February. You can experience a clean, white and powder-like snow.
