We’ve finally made it to NARA! The ancient capital of Japan, known for its impressive temples and very polite deer is the perfect day trip from either Kyoto or Osaka. You NEED to add it to your Japan itinerary. In this video, we give you some tips for visiting Nara and how to interact with the deer at Nara Park, and also try the best local sweets the city offers. We were in Nara during autumn when the maple trees were full of red and orange leaves which only added to the city’s natural beauty. And we had the most magical moment here which literally made us feel like we were in a fairy tale! We hope you enjoy this video. We’ll see you in Hiroshima next!
Here’s a list of things you must do while in Nara:
1. Try Nara’s famous mochi at Nakatanidou
2. Explore Nara Park and see deer bowing
3. Visit Nara’s many ancient temples
4. Shop for deer-themed souvenirs
5. Try more local sweets (we had sweet potato ice cream & sweet white bean paste strawberry mochi)
6. Visit Todaiji temple and cross the Nandaimon Gate
7. BE RESPECTFUL TOWARDS THE ANIMALS EVEN IF THEY BITE YOU!

Wow the deer was so calm when you were petting it! We remember feeding them and they kept chasing us and biting our clothes π
