Icy Winter Walk In Freezing Japan | Higashikawa Hokkaido

Today I’m taking a freezing winter walk in Japan – my winter morning walk today is in Higashikawa 東川町 a small town near Asahikawa 旭川 in Hokkaido 北海道 – the most northerly city in Japan. I start at Higashikawa Shrine a beautiful Shinto shrine in the center of town surrounded by trees. It’s absolutely gorgeous on a crisp winter morning. Then I make my way along the main street passing local people clearing the deep snow from the front of their businesses. The deep snow and clear blue sky today make it an unforgettable place for a short visit in this lovely little town in Hokkaido! Don’t miss this amazing place if you are visiting Hokkaido!
