Join us as we look for strangers to share a full day trip around the underrated island of Madeira! This island has got it all, bustling culture, jaw dropping views and amazing hikes. If you ever plan on travelling to check out Madeira for yourself (which we highly recommend), we recommend going on a road trip with a couple of friends, or even strangers! Check out this video as we explored the exotic fruits at the Mercado Dos Lavradoes Market, walk the back alleys of the Santa Maria Street, and even marvelled at the Cristiano Ronaldo statue.

0:00 – Introduction

1:32 – Mercado Dos Lavradores Market
Marcado Dos Lavradores Market (founded in 1940) is an open air market known to be a bustling hub for commerce, where you can find all of Madeira’s specialties from fruits and veggies to the freshest of fish. Stop here to purchase foods like dried nuts to snack on, during the many hikes in nature or around the city.

2:54 – Santa Maria Street
A long narrow street in the old town of Funchal that is home to endless alleys of vibrant street art. It is a beautiful street to go for a long stroll. It also houses many quaint restaurants that are often buzzing with both locals and tourists.

3:38 – CR7 Museum
Football fans should all know and love Cristiano Ronaldo as he was born in Madeira. Many trophies and trinkets that Cristiano Ronaldo won over the years, also an opportunity to take a photo with him via green screen!

4:13 – Meeting Our Strangers

5:57 – Ponta De Sao Lorenço (PR8)
One of the most scenic hikes in Madeira that brings you to some of the best cliff scenery. This walk traverses through the long peninsula at the eastern tip of the island. The paths are well maintained, but undulating – so if you are afraid of heights, avoid the cliff edge!

8:30 – Toboggan Ride (Wicker Toboggan)
A popular tourist attraction. Whiz through the back alleys of Madeira in a straw boats. The total duration is 10 mins and distance is approximately 2km.
