This is the second time I am flying with Alitalia in Premium Economy and I must admit that it was a pretty good experience. The flight is AZ759 from Seoul Incheon Airport to Rome Fiumicino. The flight was operated with an Airbus A330 and the total flying time was about 12 hours and 15 minutes. The flight departed with a slight delay but arrived in Rome on time.

Alitalia’s Premium Economy cabin has a 2x3x2 seat configuration. The seats come with extremely generous legroom and recline 120 degrees. At each seat, there is a set of a blanket and a pillow, very decent headphones and a bottle of water. Shortly after boarding, the flight attendants handed out amenity kits (designed by Diesel for Alitalia) and a welcoming drink. I went for a prosecco. The passengers in Premium Economy also get a free voucher for the inflight WiFi.

If you want to see the content of the amenity kit, you can watch my other video of the outbound Alitalia flight from Rome to Seoul here – https://youtu.be/I8xMVpmnqrM

Food was very good! For the main meal, one can choose between Italian and Korean. I chose the Korean meal with chicken and rice as a main course. Half flight, sandwiches and drinks are served. And about an hour before the landing in Rome, a light meal is served. Soft and alcoholic drinks are complimentary.

I didn’t film the crew, of course, but they were very friendly and helpful. There are several Korean crew members because of the large number of Korean passengers.

The only thing that I didn’t enjoy so much was the inflight entertainment system. Entertainment is kind of limited. The screen has low resolution and is not very responsive. Despite that I managed to watch a couple of movies and TV programs.

  1. Thank you for flyign Alitalia! You made an honest report! Alitalia is my favourite airline, as I have an affetive relation with it: I've obviously always flown with Alitalia, especially on their A330. Just an advice: cut a bit the safety video in the editing as it is a bit boring in a trip report. You may just link it in the description to save time. Thank you once again!

  2. Thanks for this video, I took the same flight recently. It's nice to see it through your perspective.

  3. I flew in premium economy on AZ Toronto to Rome. Only 1 plastic glass of Prosecco, plastic food with economy food. Vile.
