You can take a highway bus from Tokyo Shinjuku to Nagano station ($25-$30) and from Nagano station the Nagaden Bus express ($14) directly to the location of Snow Monkeys Park Jigokudani ($8) from where you will stroll 30 minutes (easy climbe) to the actual šµšµšµ Monkeys entrance. Going there on a cold snowy day to make sure the monkeys are inside the hot spring! In summer they will not be easy to see as they spread across the forest. These are Wild Monkeys, come & go when they please! Walking there, keep hands free of plastic bags as they will attack you thinking you carry food! Quite dangerous.
