Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo’s Shitamachi and is one of Tokyo’s districts where the Tokyo atmosphere of past decades continues. You can see many temples next to the skyscrapers. The history of the city impressed us a lot. We felt like we are travelling in time.

In the continuation of our video, you can see the Sensoji temple, which is the main attraction of Asakusa, a very popular Buddhist temple built in the 7th century. In fact, Asakusa can be easily explored on foot. Alternatively, consider a guided tour on a rickshaw (jinrikisha, literally “human-powered vehicle”). A 70-minute tour for two costs about 17,500 yen. Shorter and longer courses are also available.

Kaminarimon (Kaminari Gate) is the first of the two major entrances to Sensoji Temple. Originally built over 1000 years ago, it is the symbol of Asakusa. Nakamise shopping street leads from Kaminarimon to the temple grounds. It was a pleasure for us to walk here in our kimonos! I am also attaching the link of the restaurant where we ate Wagyu meat. Enjoy watching 🙂

  1. Your wife in kimono was very beautiful and charming. Does Turkey have super expensive meat like Kobe beef? Enjoy Japan.
