I flew into Ganja by transiting through London and Istanbul, before landing in Ganja, a city in Western Azerbaijan. Ganja itself was founded in the 6th AD and it was renamed Elisabethpol during the Russian Empire from 1804-1918.
It’s interesting to see a mix of different influences that can be seen from the buildings in the city. A mix of Ganja Khanate and the Russian empire as well as the socialist classic makes the city to be not only pleasant to the eyes but also brims with history.
This is a 7-week solo travelling throughout the Caucasus region. This journey started in Azerbaijan, crossing the border into Georgia before finalizing my trip to Armenia.
