There are traditional temples, modern bridges, intricate gardens and even Buddhist stone gardens in this artistic region of Japan. Setouchi is known for its art and I was impressed by how much it surprised me. I loved the traditional layout of the Ritsorin Garden but was blown away by the bright hues of Itsukushima Shrine and the Kosanji Temple. This island filled region is known for it’s bridges as well, which are architectural wonders. And don’t forget the Otsuka Museum with all its fantastic replicas of world famous pieces!
Whether you are an art connossieur or just someone that appreciates beautiful things, Setouchi has more art than you can imagine!
