Sharing my 32 hour journey to Bangkok Thailand and give you all a tour of my ASA Hotel, my home for the next 14 days!
Getting approved to come to Thailand wasn’t easy. Check out my previous video if you want to see how that experience was. But I got approved to enter the Kingdom of Thailand. I flew from Hawaii to Bangkok Thailand with a layover in Japan. The flight from Hawaii to Japan was 8-hours and then I had a grueling 17 hour layover in Tokyo airport.
After that, I jumped on a 6 hour flight to Bangkok Thailand. I made it through Thailand immigration pretty easily and then headed from Bangkok Airport to my ASQ hotel in downtown Bangkok. It was a heck of a journey to Bangkok Thailand — but Im finally here an happy.
I also give you a Thailand ASQ Hotel Tour at the end of the video.

Hah – doing my 14 day quarantine in Hong Kong as I type this (day 4). I'll have 8 COVID tests before it's all said and done if you can believe that! Your room is much better than mine at about the same price point, but hey, it's HK where everything is smaller. Hope the food is better than what they serve here!
Glad you made it safely! Any reason you didnโt do the Phuket island ๐ quarantine instead?
It does not look all that scary. It gives me a lot of hope that I can get to Thailand in November/December without much of a drama. Thanks for sharing your experience! Now you will have 2 weeks to catch up with all the work you were postponing (if any) :)))) Can't wait for your videos from Thailand!

A balcony would've be nice.
Wow, what a journey! I so super impressed with the lounge at the Japan airport. Very nice. Really nice apartment. Can't wait to see your next adventure in Thailand! ๐
Master Chief, thanks so much for the video. I've done a lot of European travel but very little in Asia and never Thailand. Thanks for making, what many of us think as "impossible", very doable. Enjoy your time in Thailand … look forward to the updates.
I am really confused. Why didnโt you go to Phuket instead?
Why not go to the Phuket Sandbox or Samui Plus?
I was literally going in the reverse direction as you were making this video. Had you been at Narita instead of Haneda I might have run into you roaming the empty terminals during the ridiculously long layovers right now, or in the lounge – lol. Strange times. I've been living in Thailand since January 2021 but had to come back to the USA for a bit for a family emergency. I really hope you enjoy your time there and I'm looking forward to your videos. It's disappointing that the Thai government is talking about more lockdowns, despite so much of the world opening up. Hopefully they change tack soon. Regardless, enjoy The Land of Smiles!
Great video as always.
Too late now, but when the lounge wouldn't let you in until the day of your flight, you can offer them the boarding pass from your arrival flight. Although due to crowding some airlines are now restricting the practice, most typically allow access on the day of arrival in addition the day of departure.
Arrival is when I typically find the showers to be most useful, especially if I've checked bags and would have to wait for them anyway.
Hi , bit confused, I actually thought the Thailand/BKK was in a total lockdown, but still allow to enter?
I think I would live in that bathrobe for the 14 days ๐
Thailand ๐
This is the utter INSANITY that travels become โฆ When Kevin got into the Thai van to that NASA like quarantine space hotel, I have expected him to begin talking about the vans stats ๐
Not to get too personal, but do you have a suggestion for the best credit card for travel ?
"A 'Night at the Museum' moment," LOL… good comedy relief๐ Wow, that journey looked painful. Anyway, have been enjoying your streams, loving the content (and your condo there is beautiful!)
Wow that is a like dream trip for me, empty planes & empty airports! Wonder if it is still like that..who picked your Quarantine hotel? You or them?
I love this video! Walking through the airport and showing the lounge areas and the airport shower. Also walking in the empty plane was neat to see.
Thatโs so bizarre to see no one in the airport or the plane.
Did you choose the hotel or was it assigned to you?
Wow this video wore me out. Lol
I watched almost all of your videos now ๐๐love them all โคโคโค
Did your PCR test expire by the time you boarded the 2nd flight?
Is the process still like this after lockdown has ended?
I'm loving your videos from Thailand. And am feeling inspired. I'd like to visit with my 4 year old son, but that quarantine wouldn't work for him. 3 or 4 days maybe, then he'd be insane.
Great video through Narita Airport. My wife will be coming back from Thailand October 7, sheโs been in Thailand since the start of everything, March 15, 2020. Sheโs flying through Narita and give me an idea of what she might experience. Sheโs doing first class and the layover time was key in selecting her flight, keeping it to just 3 hours and 30 minutes. As always, enjoyed the content. Thanks.
Aloha Kevin! It was interesting watching this part of your journey. I love airport lounges! I try to arrange travel so I can use a lounge. Iโve been to the one you visited, ANA Narita; so nice. Iโve learned you can often find a lounge thatโll allow anyone to purchase a day pass; worth it for long layovers. With so few passengers on those flights, I would have certainly made it my mission to get all the female flight attendant names! Lol. โBum Gunโโฆ never heard that phrase, but Iโll remember it! Bill
You have great stamina to layover 17 hrs in deserted airport in Japan After the Hawaii flight. Then onto Thailand! Why I donโt qualify๐ Travelers such as you amaze me how ez you can hang your hat wherever and not long for home.
Great video. Very informative.
Great to catch up on your travels n life journey -I was one of your early subs. Bravo to you esp through COVID
