  1. Owen just in case any of your viewers are interested, just above the calypso bar on the same side , there is a hotel called initial, they do monthly rates, I think my room was 9000 a month plus electric and water , superb big bed with quality bedding and pillows , superb powerful shower and probably the quietest air conditioning I have ever seen , worth a look in the future bud

  2. Brilliant video pal . Love the banter you had with that lady free coffee too I prefer to do the same just wonder where people not normally go looking out for part 3

  3. You are hard on yourself, Owen. Your Thai beginnings+ are great. You string the words together well and have a good ear to mimic the tones.
I speak 4 languages but did 2 of them at university. I did some Thai lessons about 15 years ago in Pattaya in the old building where Terminal 21 is now. When I retire I'll pick it up again.
You go for it β€οΈπŸ‘πŸ™. Really good urban discovery… πŸ€” P.S. Have you thought of doing an audio book version of your book with you as narrator and putting it on Amazon as a package with the electronic book?

  4. Owen you hit the nail on the head. Potential for a good night out but doesn’t do it for me. Not enough ladies mate and I was there last week. Good vid though mate as always. The glory days of the monger in Thailand are over. Still love the place though as it has so much to offer for the tourist.

  5. Getting good vibes about Hua Hin definitely need to go next trip I'm giving Pattaya a miss next time, great video Owen πŸ˜ŽβœŒοΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡·

  6. Nice vid Owen, if the weasel had a good pop 🀣i bet you will wanna sleep, beer and sunshine takes it out of you in the daytime in Land of smiles … had a look its cheap to go from Bkk to Udon thani only a 1 hr flight. i am back in may/June hope to retire in Thailand in 10yrs time. looking forward to No3 cheers mate πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ™

  7. I was in a bar just before the train tracks but its gone now. I didn't notice a 7/11 in that area. I'll be back in Thailand in July this year. I'll probably just miss you for a catch up

  8. Top stuff, Owen!

When I lived in Hong Kong for six months, and travelled around Asia, I found myself coming home speaking broken English, and using hand signs for numbers. πŸ˜€

Looks like you do the same, as I did when talking to the locals, Owen, (simplifying your English). I reckon if you stayed in Thailand for a month or two you'd come back doing the same, and have the preverbial taken out of you when back in your local boozer! πŸ˜€

Am I the only one who does this? Or have others? I'll open it up to others to comment.

Oh, and on a side-note…220ThB for a full English on Soi 94 (11:19 mark)! That's 'Spoons prices (and they don't have the same living standards and costs as us.
Sounds to me like they're fleecing Farangs (other places on that strip appear to have much more reasonable prices though)! πŸ€”

  9. Another great vlog Owen. Do you still think Hau Hin is a better place to retire than Pattaya?.

  10. Have you thought about trying the alternative scene mate? You know its not right just to be straight these days. A nice katoey massage might go down nicely.
