Getting used to life in Penang, I think about the things I experienced in Fukuoka in Japan. I took Shinkansen on 14th in September heading for Osaka. I was supposed to take a flight going back to South Korea in Kansai International Airport. I had found a flight in Fukuoka International Airport. But it was too expensive and I felt like touring around Kansai area like Osaka and Kyoto.
I do not remember the exact price for the ticket. Maybe it was around $120. I had taken Shinkansen, but I thought taking Shinkansen is one of the things I could and should do before leaving Japan.
The station was empty because of COVID-19. I got around the hall looking for interesting things. I found Hello Kitty Cafe. There were shops and convenience stores, but I had lived there two years. I was not the person who got excited with fragrant coffee in Seven Eleven anymore.
I took Shinkansen. I had taken ICE in Germany. Surely, I took KTX in South Korea. Shinkansen was the least noisy. I would recommend anyone who would visit Japan take Shinkansen.
The weather was awesome and I took lots of videos. I could watch Kokura, Hiroshima shining under the Sun. Especially, the sky was so blue.
I felt sorry that I had to go back to South Korea, which I had not expected. I could have stayed and found another job. I thought I made a right decision and I still think it was not wrong. I am in Penang experiencing different kind of life which does not have winter.
From here, it’s about my short introduction
I am Jerry from South Korea. I moved to Malaysia in July 2021. Just briefly revealing my life for the last decade, originally I was an English teacher in South Korea. I was more like a freelancing English instructor. I enjoyed the career. Having a few days off, I used to travel Japan. It was so much fun to find both similarities and differences between South Korea and Japan. Then, I started to learn Japanese to travel all around Japan more freely. Then, I felt like working in Japan. So, in 2018, I moved to Japan. I worked in hospitality businesses. I worked in a traditional hotel with great hot springs around in the countryside for one year. After one year, I got hired by a holding company in Fukuoka City which has several luxurious restaurants. I was in charge of serving overseas customers. It was so much fun, too. However, I had to go back to South Korea due to COVID19.
Now, I am in Malaysia. Arriving at the airport in KL, I felt I should start to make vlogs and share my experience with people I know and I don’t know. The purpose of this vlog channel is very simple: sharing my experience and ideas I come up with in Malaysia.
But this vlog channel is not just about Malaysia. I took videos back home in South Korea and Japan, which ,without doubt, could be new and exciting to people from other areas including the friends I have made and will make in Malaysia. I hope the edited personal videos about South Korea and Japan can be helpful for them to make themselves more curious about both of the countries. They are worth knowing and visiting, I promise.
Lastly, as I named my vlog as ‘Life and Immunology’, I am going to deal with things related to our ‘immunology’ issues. It won’t be professional things. I am not a nurse or doctor. Due to COVID19, our life got disrupted 180 degrees. I think we should prioritize the issue of ‘immunology not only for our well-being but also for our survival. It is a vast issue. I have tried and will keep trying to do so as well. I am going to share my ideas and experiences about ‘IMMUNOLOGY’ from a holistic point of view.
