On Sunday 22nd March 2011, Peter and I got to the airport for 7.15am to catch the influx of A330s from Orlando and Canada. As the weather was so changeable we binned our plans for munro bagging and saw all of these heavies off the premises.

Then headed to PIK for the 2 KC10s but thats another story and a different video!

  1. Gate 3 for the landings, Gate 2 for the takeoffs. The Loganair hanger bit for the pushbacks. All accessible to the public. Gate 2 and 3 are along the road to Renfrew.

  2. hi guys . just wondering if the virgin atlantic still has 744 in glasgow and is it daily the a300 virgins ?

Weekend service during the summer months to orlando. Started off as 744 but now A330 is the equipment

  4. No, just sometimes get diverts due to ash clouds (not as uncommon as they used to be!!) and snow at Heathrow.

If you want 747 action, the AF Cargo and the CargoLux go through PIK every Sunday usually. The viewing area in the terminal building has also reopened recently. You may also be lucky and get an AN224 or some of the US Military stuff that goes through there.

  5. That was brilliant. Nice to see a different angle for once rather than the too. I was closely watching the traffic on planefinder that day because of the interesting movements. Too cloudy to see out the window though.
