I recently had the pleasure of visiting Leona General Store Steakhouse in Texas, and I have to say, it did not disappoint. This charming little restaurant has a rich history dating back to the 1870s, when James David House and his family moved to Leona’s Evans Chapel Community from Tennessee. Six generations of Houses have lived in Leona, and in 1997, Jerry and Cynthia House stumbled upon the old general store and decided to turn it into a restaurant.
Since then, the Leona General Store has become known for its delicious, hand-cut ribeye steaks, smoked chicken, and grilled pork ribeye. The restaurant has a cozy, down-home atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I decided to try the ribeye steak, and it was cooked to perfection – juicy and flavorful, with just the right amount of char on the outside. The portions are generous, too – I left feeling completely satisfied, but not overly stuffed.
Overall, I had a great experience at Leona General Store Steakhouse. If you’re in the area and looking for a delicious, high-quality steak, I highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Added to "definitely stop at" list on next Dallas Trip. Good Video David👏🏻👏🏻
Damn..David, my mouth watered watching this video, another great video.
I stop by here everytime i go up to Dallas
I love this place.
Several years ago we drove to Destin Florida from Thibodaux, Louisiana. Sister-in-law owned a Condo there and in Jacksonville, but Destin was closer. We stayed there for a week and wife drove back. She detoured to go to Lambert's in Alabama. I wanted to go home. I did not think it was worth it. Since then I don't drive out of my way for any place to eat. We have so many places here to eat at and we are one of the best when it comes to seafood out the gulf. Then with my son being "The Cajun Ninja" with a sold out cookbook, well you see where I am going with it. But with that being said appreciate you taking the time to drive there and let people know about Leona's. I did laugh when you ordered the chicken. When my children were little if I didn't order steak for them then they would have ate all mine . Great Job!
Thanks for the review bro. That's nice for them to allow you to film them cooking. I need a trip to Texas soon now.
Everything is bigger and better in Texas, so is their steak, btw, how can you say what's best steak, since there's so many places that serves "the best steak" in Texas, just curious.
i love your intro song! now, onto the video. 🙂
The meat looks good. 14 ounces is too small for you and me .
it was nice of them to let you back into the kitchen “smokehouse” as the hostess didnt seem very friendly to you or your family, until they knew you were trying to film and promote them. wow.
9:59 – me again.. that is one sad salad. lettuce and one cherry tomato. you know i love you and your family but so far, im on the fence about this place, but im just pausing to reply, as i keep watching.
good gosh, i feel like a ‘debbie downer’ here, but they are not very good at ‘upselling’ by not even asking you if you want dessert, but instead, rushing you off with the bill/check. you are so nice and humble no matter what.
Nice video David, my mouth was watering watching you eat that awesome steak. 👍
Always look forward to watching your video! If you’re in the dfw area, you should definitely check out Bayou Cat!
$31 for the smallest 10 oz steak then goes about $2 per oz after that. Just an FYI.
Those steaks look AMAZING!!
I'm visiting San Antonio in May. Hope to visit this place. Don't know if I can finish that 14 ounces though.
Come on David. I know you could finish a 20 oz steak with your eyes closed. Looks like a great place to eat. Great video too
Dear David (aka 'David Sriracha')! I love the aka Vámonos, and think you should implement an aka Adiós at the end of each video. I love you and your wife. Good content and good night. 😀
We had the same host and waitress when we were there 3 months ago. We got the biggest piece of steak and it was too thick. Next time we will just get 2 12 Oz so it cooks evenly
Great content and thanks for sharing! Now I have an excuse to to head down to Houston.
Texas people are real cool people..
