We walk around the core of the city and just soak up the history of Siggiewi, Siġġiewi also known as Città Ferdinand, is a village in the South West part of Malta. The town is built on a plateau 10km away from Valletta, the population who in the past were mostly farmers working in the agricultural areas that surround the village. Siggiewi was already established in the 14th century, and on December 30th 1797 it was established as a city by the Grandmaster Ferdinand Von Hompesch who christened the city as “Città Ferdinand”.

Fantastic video nice church. Love spend time walk one day xxx
WOW thanks Steve – another one on my list
Steve great place to be lost the passages and stone arches and the old stone slab floors like you know if you visit the limestone museum you can see how it was done I have lots of photos of old fords and Bedford's delivering groceries and parrifin 25 years ago all the best. Classic trucker 😎
Love the old boys arguing about directions and think that a 'word for the day' would be a great idea Steve.
So nice to get lost there with you. 🙂
every Church or Chapel i*ve seen is very well decorated and seems to be well looked after ,love all Maltas old Buildings and Little Towns
Fish & chips pls. ….Thanks!!!!
Expected. John Cleese and Michael Paylin to pop up
when heard the Monty Pythan theme haha
Lovely churches and chapels Wonderful old buildings
Perfect blue skies and grand commentary
SMILES👍🇬🇧
nice old village steve, take care
I love Siġġiewi. I have also heard that once you get said boy or girlfriend, and they become engaged, they are to go around the statue 4 times together. I love folk lore. And it's places like this that make me fall in love with Malta all over again, and want to live and hide away back in time. LOL at SIGIWIGGI. I've heard many British say that! HAHA
Can't wait for part 2, as that cross is lovely, and the views spectacular. There used to be the stations of the cross as you walk up, so I am curious to see if they are still thee. And there is a lovely old chapel up there too
This is my town, my church!!! This is where I live.
Your Maltese is very good Steve

I think Maltese have the best Chruches, in the world!!!! Beautiful Architecture and I love the old buildings. Alot of interesting history. The Chapels are amazing!!! Love your YouTube Channel. Xxxxxx🌏🌍🎶❤️💜😘💙💞🌎💕💗♥️🙏👌👆👏💖🇲🇹🇲🇹🇲🇹🇲🇹🇲🇹🇲🇹🇲🇹💙😘😉🙏👍👍👍👍😍😏😃😙🤗
Steve, do you think if I walk backwards 7 times around that statue I would be able to get a divorce ??? Typical of old men anywhere in the world when asking for directions they can't agree which way to go. I remember in Wales asking for directions and the old but said to go down the road and turn left where the post office used to be!!! ….we got lost.
G
How dare you sot there and eat pastizzi and drink cisk while I'm stuck at home when I should be in Malta right now 😉💖🇲🇹Love your vlogs!
Siġġiewi is the place of my father's side of the family. It is where he and his 12 siblings were born, when it was still a village. Thanks for the tour!
