Sakura in Okinawa blooms earlier than ones in other prefectures in Japan. From the mid of January to February, Kanhizakura (Formosan Cherry) comes into blossom.
Cherry Blossom Festivals will be held in Motobu Town, Nakijin Village, Nago City, Naha City, Yaese Town and many other places.
Locals and tourists visit the sights to enjoy viewing cherry blossoms. When you visit Okinawa in the season, don’t forget to go Hanami (cherry blossom viewing)!
